It is about 1.9 miles long and 490 feet wide. The strait is situated in the municipality of Bodo in Nordland County, Norway, about 6.2 miles southeast of Bodo Town. In moments such as these I quickly give myself a hard word, and reminded myself how lucky I am to see and experience these out of reach places. I was expecting to see a ferocious whirlpool but seeing it for the first time didn’t reach the colossal expectations I had built for myself.
